<p>Just a short 20 minute drive from Faro Airport, the retreat is easy to reach yet feels worlds away from the rush of travel. Nestled in the peaceful countryside, it sits close to some of the Algarve’s most beautiful untouched beaches, where golden sands and turquoise waters invite quiet reflection or leisurely afternoon strolls.</p>
<p>Nearby, Fuesta and Olhao, are charming seaside fisherman’s villages which add a touch of local authenticity—whitewashed houses, rugged boats, and waterfront cafés offering a glimpse into the region’s relaxed coastal life. It’s an ideal setting for those seeking tranquillity and an authentic view of Portugal life.</p>


Where is Shanti-Som Algarve 

<p>To fully enjoy the benefits of our programs, there is a minimum required duration for each type of retreat. The Relaxation Retreat, our introductory program, starts with a minimum stay of one night, while the other programs require a minimum stay of three nights. The Weight Loss retreat is an exception, with a minimum stay of five nights.</p>


Do you have a minimum night stay? 

<p>Non hotel guests are warmly welcomed at Shanti-Som Algarve, making it an inviting sanctuary for anyone seeking a moment of calm and wellbeing. Whether you’re visiting for rejuvenating spa treatments, holistic wellness consultations, or simply wish to enjoy a nourishing lunch, dinner, or a relaxing drink in our serene surroundings, you’re always invited to share in the retreat experience.</p>
<p>We also provide a Day Retreat option for those who would like to stay and enjoy a program of Yoga, Meditation, lunch, spa treatment and use of the facilities for the day.</p>

<p>Each room can accommodate 2 people, and an additional fee is charged for double occupancy.</p>

A true sanctuary!

I’ve been to Shanti-Som a couple of times now, and every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The moment you arrive, you feel taken care of. There’s a real attention to detail everywhere, from the beautifully maintained spaces to the thoughtful touches that make the whole experience feel personal and warm.

The location is stunning and incredibly peaceful, surrounded by nature and perfect for truly disconnecting. The staff is amazing: kind, attentive and genuinely dedicated to making your stay special. The food is delicious and the activity program and spa menu both offer exactly what you need in terms of well-being.

A perfect place to rest, recharge, and come back to yourself.

Shanti-Som has been on my wishlist for years and I finally made... it was so worth the wait!

I love that it was a small and very peaceful place tucked away in the hills. The food was absolutely amazing (compliments to the chefs), the staff were so warm and friendly, and the rooms had everything I needed. Everywhere was so well kept - no detail overlooked.

I also really enjoyed the daily yoga and meditation, and also did a couple of treatments along with a guided walk, so also great to see the beautiful countryside.

I actually didn't want to leave. Thank you team for a wonderful break - I will be back!

I recently returned from Shanti-som and had the most incredible and relaxing 4 days. From the moment I arrived I felt a sense of peace and calm.
The hotel is beautiful and serene surrounded by mountains, the food was delicious and nourishing and the entire experience felt seamless from arrival until we left.

I went for the yoga and Pilates retreat but they also offer hikes, sound healing and ice bath that just made the experience even better!

The rooms were clean, spacious and had a gorgeous view.

I have no doubt I will be returning to this very special place!

I have not stayed here I would love to but I live locally and I come here with friends or family to the restaurant for meals or breakfast. It’s in an absolutely beautiful setting. Very peaceful and calm. Food is very healthy and good quality. Now it’s changed from menu to buffet. (Not recommended for meat lovers) Staff are great too. I will take photos next time to put here !

Amazing - just perfect. The location, views, and in the middle of nature. Everyone working at Shanti Som was so kind. The food was amazing (and you could even  buy wine!). On arrival we were given a schedule of classes, mediation options, and spa treatment. We also went on a guided hike which I would recommend.  We shall be back!!
